Cheetah Concepts is well underway in production of it’s first American Style Catboat. This is a monohull displacement yacht commonly referred to as a Cape Cod Catboat. A gaff rigged design that dates back to the mid eighteen hundreds.

Redesigned by Ross Hutchens and naval architect Howard Peachy this Tennyson 25 is a very stable and very roomy yacht boasting a beam of 3.6 meters being almost half it’s length. This is traditional of catboats of which originated as fishing boats that would venture 30 nautical miles off the New England shores. Catboat are known to have a large cockpit, shallow draft, are easy to handle and are a good sea boat, able to take care of themselves in almost any weather.

This centerboarder yacht has been designed to meet survey requirements and has a minimum of 1900mm headroom. She sleeps 5 adults comfortably and has a roomy shower/head f/wd. With the un-stayed tapered mast stepped at the bow and a single fully battened mainsail, the Tennyson 25 is safe and easy to sail one handed particularly with the boom sail store incorporating lazy-jacks to help guide the sail onto the boom.
